1966-1968

I attended college at the University of California SF

1968-1970

I attended and graduated from Sonoma State University with a degree in Psychology. I also attended a 6 month program in Dance & Movement.

1970-1972

I was a counselor at Sonoma County Juvenile Detention Center, a maximum security facility for teen offenders.

I moved to Minneapolis, MN where I worked on a movie set and taught art at the Minneapolis Boys Club, waiting for the opening of St. Josephs Home for children. At this time, I was also a supervisor of 12 childcare workers and residents while teens and children were awaiting placement for foster care, permanent homes, treatment centers, etc. I also did intake on abused and abandoned children going into foster care. During this year, I also worked for the University of Minnesota Medical School at the program in Human Sexuality. I did weekend seminars for medical students and graduating into all "helping professionals", as well as couples in the community. This evolved into my leading the Sexual Attitudes Reassessment Seminars (SAR). We gave participants a very extensive experience in sexuality, all lifestyles and activities (using lectures, guest speakers, panels,  films, visuals and small group discussions). I eventually joined the staff as a full time employee, where I guided the health center team in setting up a counseling group for sex therapy, available to the community. We had 3 therapists, including myself, who ran this sector. I took on an additional level of growth here where I adopted a women's program providing therapy and groups for women of all ages, status, lifestyle, etc. We trained and studied with our sister program at the University of California Medical School in San Francisco. This lead to my traveling to other universities throughout the country to help other medical schools set up their sexual health programs. I want to just emphasize that this is where I really fell in love with this field. This was a year of growth for me (as you can see), as well as the rest of the country in terms of the publicity of sexual health education, rights and awareness. To this day, I feel so fortunate to be on the ground floor of sex education and counseling.

1972

I finished my Masters Degree in Psychology through an external degree program at Goddard College, using my experience at the University of Minnesota Medical School. I wrote my thesis on psychology and female sexuality.

1975

I joined Sagaris, a Feminist Collective Counseling Center for Women. With either other women, we provided counseling and lectures for all women on a sliding scale and we functioned totally as a linear collective organization.  I had been living in Boulder for almost a decade now. I set up a "pilot program" in sexual health at Wardenburg's Student Health Center at the University of Colorado. I counseled and lectured on all aspects of sexuality. I supervised interns, counseled, lectured and managed the victims assistance program (helped with medical and legal issues of assault and abuse on campus) at CU alongside the local police department. This lead me to become qualified as an expert witness through the District Attorney's office. I also ran AIDS Awareness programs, as well as was a group leader during the "AIDS Medicine & Miracles" conference in Boulder in the '80's. I was employed by the University of Colorado for nearly 24 years. My program then moved to the Psychiatry department in about 1982. At this time, I opened a private practice that is what you are now exploring. I have been in practice independently in Boulder for almost 40 years. I see children, teens, adults and couples (fully accepting of all genders and lifestyles). As you can see, I have a wealthy background of sexual education and health, as well as general counseling in all age ranges. My expertise focuses on sexual health, education & issues, trauma (abuse & assault, addictions, illness & accidents), depression, anxiety, intimacy, aging issues (currently finishing a book on women over 60 and sexuality). I am available 6 days a week by appointment. I work on a sliding scale and am open to insurance.
